This is a highly strategic and hands-on leadership role focused on turning growth and marketing strategy into repeatable, high-performing content systems at scale. You will function as a skilled Cinematographer, personally able to shoot, film, direct, and produce high-quality cinematic videos from concept to completion, as well as managing external vendors and talent (e.g., PAs). The core of the role is expert Storytelling, transforming client growth strategies into viral-ready short-form content (TikToks/Reels) and compelling long-form videos. Finally, you will be responsible for budget management, driving cost efficiency and delivering projects within specified budgets. You will both edit and create content yourself, while guiding and leveling up junior editors and designers. This role requires someone who deeply understands internet culture and can break down why content spreads, not just what looks good. What You’ll Own 1. Team Lead for Media/Content Team - Serve as the Team Lead for the entire media vertical, providing strategic direction, creative frameworks, and execution standards across short-form and long-form content. - Establish repeatable creative formats, playbooks, and content systems that can scale across multiple clients and campaigns. - Manage and mentor a team of graphic designers, video editors, and other media personnel. - Ensure seamless operations and collaboration between media team members for both growth/marketing and client projects. - Source, hire, and manage external vendors and talent (e.g., PAs) as needed for productions. - Collaborate closely with Growth, Marketing, Operations, and Commercial teams to translate campaign strategy into executable content direction. 2. Cinematographer / Editor - Personally execute and oversee the production of high-quality content, ranging from cinematic shoots to performance-driven social content. - Operate as a skilled camera operator and director to achieve the desired visual and narrative standard for all content. - Maintain and manage production equipment and resources. 3. Storytelling - Act as the expert in translating client growth and marketing strategies into performance-driven content formats that optimize for retention, velocity, and platform-specific behavior. - Develop and produce a high volume of viral-ready short-form content (e.g., TikToks, Reels) that aligns with current internet culture and trends. - Create engaging and high-quality long-form videos as required. Reverse engineer high-performing content to extract learnings and evolve creative direction over time. - Spot emerging trends early and design experiments around new formats, hooks, and distribution mechanics. 4. Budget Management - Manage and oversee production budgets for specific projects. - Drive cost efficiency across the media vertical and all production processes. - Ensure all content projects are completed and delivered successfully within their allocated financial specifications. - Balance creative ambition with operational efficiency, ensuring content output remains scalable and sustainable. What Success Looks Like - The media vertical operates as a high-performance team, consistently hitting content production and quality targets. - Viewership and engagement goals for client and marketing content are consistently met or exceeded. - All cinematic video productions are delivered on time, on budget, and achieve the desired visual/narrative standards. - Client growth strategies are expertly translated into a high volume of viral-ready short-form content and compelling long-form videos. - Cost efficiency is maximized, with all projects successfully delivered within allocated financial specifications. - Repeatable content formats and creative playbooks are established, enabling faster turnaround times and consistent performance. - The media team operates effectively across time zones with minimal bottlenecks or dependency on synchronous communication. You’ll Thrive in This Role If You… - Possess deep fluency in internet culture, trends, and platform dynamics. - Have a proven track record of creating viral, performance-driven short-form content. - Are an expert Cinematographer/Producer/Editor, proficient with industry-standard tools (CapCut, Premiere Pro, Adobe Suite). - Thrive in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment and think in systems and repeatable creative formats. - Are comfortable leading and collaborating with a distributed, cross-timezone team, including working flexible hours when needed. - Think in systems, patterns, and formats rather than one-off creative ideas. - Are comfortable reading and reacting to performance metrics such as retention curves, view velocity, and watch time. Requirements - Have 5+ years of professional experience in content production, cinematography, or a related media leadership role. - Experience working with global or offshore creative teams is strongly preferred. - Strong preference for candidates with experience in the music industry, particularly managing or growing artist social media accounts. What We Offer - Unlimited PTO. - Work with top tier clients across music, gaming, and entertainment. - Fast moving environment with real ownership and growth opportunities. - Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance options. Compensation - $95,000 - $140,000 USD base salary. - Equity ownership through ESOP grants.
